The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn is a corporate event venue in New York, where companies come to meet, connect, and celebrate away from the city. We are located in Dover Plains, NY, 80 miles north of Manhattan and about 90 minutes by car. Our property sits on 11 acres in the Hudson Valley, and we give your group exclusive use of the entire space for the duration of your event. We handle the space, the food, the setup, the A/V, and the coordination. You focus on your team.

The Space

Our main barn is climate-controlled with heat and A/C, so your event works in any season. It has hand-hewn beams, vaulted ceilings, barn wood floors, a full audio system, presentation screens, a live-feed device, and reliable Wi-Fi. We also have easels, whiteboards, and office supplies available for working sessions. Outside, your team has access to our 40x50-foot stone patio, a tented area, and open lawn space for outdoor breakout sessions, team activities, and evening gatherings.

The Food

All catering is handled in-house by Old Drovers Inn. Our chef builds a custom menu around your group's needs, preferences, and dietary requirements. Everything is made fresh on-site in our Board of Health-approved commercial kitchen. From working lunches to multi-course dinners featuring chicken saltimbocca, prime rib of beef, filet mignon, or crab-stuffed sole, we build the menu around you.

The Coordination

Our on-site coordinator works with you from the first planning call through the end of your event. We handle the floor plan, the timeline, the setup, and the breakdown. We make sure your event runs exactly the way you need it to.

The Preston Barn is a perfect reflection of old meets new.  With historic elements that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, this newly constructed barn features hand hewn beams, vaulted ceilings and barn wood floors and walls. With amenities such as a “state of the art” commercial kitchen, nicely decorated bathrooms, full audio system (music & microphones), heat and air conditioning, you are sure to be comfortable any time of the year.

tAP rOOM rESTAURANT: Up to 60 Guests

The Colonial Tap Room at Old Drovers Inn is a great spot for private dining. The dark wood and plastered walls, illuminated by candlelight and lanterns, set the stage for a daytime gathering or a dramatic evening affair.

The main dining room of the Inn with a grand, wood-burning fireplace and hand-painted murals that date back to the 1940’s, serves as the central focal point for any occasion.  Perfect for rehearsal dinners and small dinner parties.

Corporate Retreat Venue in New York - Stay, Meet, and Connect in One Place

If you are planning an overnight retreat, we have the lodging to support it. Your team does not need to leave the property to sleep, eat, or meet.

Old Drovers Inn is our historic six-room inn located on-site. Each room has a private bath and a concierge is available for coffee, tea, and refreshments. The Carriage House has seven bedrooms directly across the street from the barn, and breakfast at Old Drovers Inn is included for guests staying there. The Preston House is just down the road with four private en-suite bedrooms, a full kitchen, two living rooms, a dining room, and a sunroom that sleeps eight guests. The Lake House, coming soon, adds 12 private en-suite bedrooms with a dedicated conference room and full A/V equipment.
